The New York woman who assaulted a reporter over a pro-life stance offered an apology but also claimed she was provoked.
Brianna Rivers delivered her message to Savannah Craven Antao in a Facebook post after the victim ended up in the hospital following the shocking punch she sustained as she conducted an on-the-street interview in Harlem last week. But many on social media felt Rivers was playing the “victim card.”
“To Savannah, I sincerely apologize but cannot sit around and allow you to continue pushing this one sided narrative. I understand hands being put on someone is never the answer, but throwing rocks and hiding hands is worse,” Rivers wrote on Facebook in a message to the reporter for pro-life advocacy group Live Action.

“She knows the truth and she needs to release the footage in its entirety. Savannah is a professional antagonist not a ‘reporter’ and the truth will be told,” Rivers added.
In a note posted as part of the message, Rivers claimed the reporter “railroaded me into all of this,” and said Craven Antao needed to release the “unedited footage of her relentless antagonization” during the interview.

“I will not allow my image to be defamed by this woman’s actions. Anyone who knows me knows how respectful I am, I don’t even litter, there’s no way you believe I’m punching people for disagreeing with my POV,” wrote Rivers.
Craven Antao is reportedly “now nursing a black eye, two stitches below her eyebrow, significant pain in her nasal area and a heavy psychological burden,” according to the New York Post.
“Craven Antao reported the incident to police and admitted to ‘provoking’ Rivers, authorities said. Rivers had not been arrested as of Saturday afternoon,” the outlet reported.
But Rivers’ attempt to play the victim was not too well received on X, where reactions poured in.
Gee, that doesn’t sound like an apology to me. “I’m sorry she made me do it.”

She can apologize from jail.
I ‘love’ how these violent people blame someone else for their own violent choices.— Peri Fine (@Perifinesse) April 5, 2025
High calorie woman Brianna J Rivers who assaulted Savannah Craven just posted a donation link on her Facebook trying to raise $20,000 for “professional counsel and bail.” She makes a number of grammatical errors. She currently has zero donations.

I literally know the woman she punched and she is not that intense. If you can’t handle her without violence you just need to be locked up because in life you’ll meet some nasty people and she is not one of them. https://t.co/2oLXSDtAWd

Sounds like Brianna Rivers wasn’t able to hold her own intellectually against Savannah Craven, so she decided to resort to violence.
