Woke Snow White Bombs In Disastrous Opening Weekend

Disney’s live-action woke remake of Snow White has seriously underperformed in its opening weekend in at the box office. The movie recasts the classic elements of the story in a progressive light, including by ditching the popular songs including “whistle while you work“, replacing the seven dwarfs with computer generated graphics, and scrapping the entire ‘sexist’ romance plot. Which is pretty much the entire story…

The box office figures come in at $100m globally, significantly short of the production costs, given that it cost an insane $250m to make. This is much less than Disney’s big hits made on an opening weekend…

The movie comes in at a painful 44% on Rotten Tomatoes, and has been panned by critics. Even The Guardian fumed: “With tiresome pseudo-progressive additions that tie the whole thing in knots, this is a waste of estimable entertainers like Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot“. Zegler’s long history of pro-Palestine campaigning and attacks on President Trump have not helped – nor has her branding one of the main characters, Prince Charming, a “stalker” for his behaviour towards women. Go woke, go broke…
