Sen. Adam Schiff said the quiet part out loud as he attempted to dunk on President Donald Trump’s efforts to clean up the federal government.
In a revealing post on social media, the California Democrat was doing his best to blast Trump and Elon Musk’s work with the Department of Government Efficiency to remove federal fraud and waste.
But Schiff ended up drawing attention to the real story about how many in his home state are actually on Medicaid.
One in three Californians relies on Medicaid.
But at this very moment, Donald Trump and Elon Musk are planning to wipe it out — and use the proceeds for a tax cut.
I will fight with everything I have, every single day, to stop them.

“One in three Californians relies on Medicaid,” Schiff wrote, adding that Trump and Musk “are planning to wipe it out — and use the proceeds for a tax cut.”
“I will fight with everything I have, every single day, to stop them,” the Democrat vowed.
“California faces a $6.2 billion budget gap in the state’s Medicaid services, which could force Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom and Democratic lawmakers to reevaluate future coverage for some of the 15 million people who receive health care through the program, including immigrants,” the Associated Press reported.
“The shortfall comes a year after California launched an ambitious coverage expansion to provide free health care to all low-income adults regardless of their immigration status. That’s costing far more than the state projected,” the outlet continued. “California provides free health care to more than a third of its 39 million people.”
The state reportedly “underestimated” how many people would sign up when it extended health care benefits to cover all low-income adults, at a cost of $2.7 billion more than budgeted.
While Schiff was aiming his arrows at Trump and Musk, many reading his post wondered how it’s possible that one-third of those living in California must rely on government assistance to survive.
Why would 1 in 3 Californians rely on Medicaid?
You don’t see that as a massive failure of leadership in your state? https://t.co/OVim0Cgl3p

How many of those are citizens?

If one in three Californians rely on Medicaid, California has bigger problems.

Maybe you shouldn’t harbor illegals and give them free health care and you wouldn’t have one in three needing Medicaid. Cut them off problem solved.

WOW! For a state that always brags about it’s GDP you’d think the numbers of Californians on Medicaid would be FAR FAR less.
OH WAIT, it’s the illegals you’re keeping in country that make Cali numbers so atrocious. ♀️Silly me.

33% of Californians are poverty stricken? Communist countries do better than that.

Maybe you should be more concerned about the fact that 1/3 of your state’s residents have to rely on the government for their healthcare. That’s not something to be proud of champ. Maybe your state is the problem.
