White Sox Roasted For Having One Of Worst Grounds Crews In History Of Baseball

What the hell is this?

2024 was a disastrous season for the Chicago White Sox, and here in 2025, things aren’t getting any better.

The game Sunday between the White Sox and Los Angeles Angels was slapped with a delay when Rate Field was hit with a downpour of rain and hail during the seventh inning. Well, the grounds crew of the White Sox apparently had no idea that this weather was coming, because they appeared to be completely caught off guard when everything popped off.

While the crew was running across the field to put out the tarp, they couldn’t get the entire infield covered because of the weight of the rain. Making it halfway, the tarp ended up getting stuck, which forced the crew to get ahold of anything in sight to make sure the rest of the infield was protected.

Why didn’t the @whitesox have the tarps out 15 minutes earlier? They knew that was coming. It was a 15 minute storm that’s going to end up being an hour and a half long rain delay to clean up the infield. Pure incompetence by the organization once again.
