WaPo announces top ten democrat 2028 presidential choices. Let’s GO!

As even Democrats admit their party is lacking a clear leader who can run for president in 2028, a list of contenders offered by The Washington Post prompted fresh responses.

After the paper relayed its top Democrats “who make the most sense for 2028,” not much seems to have changed with Democrats still flailing for identity while President Donald Trump plows through America’s agenda.

“There’s a vacuum atop an adrift Democratic Party,” WaPo reported in January, offering those would-be candidates in order.

With the antics of lawmakers during Trump’s address to Congress last week and their continued fear-mongering about everything the president is accomplishing, Democrats are failing to offer any strategies of their own besides attacking Trump.

Social media users still reacting to the list of potential presidential contenders claimed it represents a “dystopian nightmare.”

“People laugh at this list, but any of these candidates will get millions and millions of votes. All of them will out perform Kamala,” another user wrote.

Users on X contended that the list was not realistic enough, with only a handful of the names posing any viable chance of making it.

“Only Josh Shapiro and Gretchen Whitmer have any shot and Josh has the biggest shot,” one user wrote, referring to Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro who made the number one spot on the Washington Post’s list.

The paper pointed to Shapiro’s “demonstrated political talents, messaging capabilities and crossover appeal” as well as noting he sounded “a lot like” former President Obama.

With California Gavin Newsom’s latest move to host a podcast and with a seeming attempt to shift more to the center, observers note the term-limited governor will likely be mounting a 2028 campaign for the White House.

Shapiro and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear were seen as ones not to underestimate.

Interestingly, former VP nominee, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, was dead last on WaPo’s list of a dozen potential 2028 candidates with the paper noting “he didn’t really live up to the early hype.”

“He seemed more comfortable auditioning for the VP pick than actually serving as a running mate. And his debate performance was not great,” WaPo noted. “He’s on the map, but it’s hard to see Democrats thinking he’s the answer.”

Many X users noted that Vice President JD Vance would likely be the GOP nominee and good luck to anyone running against him.
