VP Vance’s 3-Year-Old Targeted by Radical Pro-Ukraine Protesters

Vice President JD Vance was confronted by pro-Ukraine activists over the weekend while on a walk with his 3-year-old daughter, marking the second time in recent weeks that demonstrators have targeted his family during their personal time.

The incident took place just days after similar activists disrupted the Vance family’s ski vacation in Vermont.

Vance, who grew up in poverty and later served as a U.S. Marine before becoming a best-selling author and U.S. senator, shared details of the latest confrontation on X on Saturday.

He described how activists followed him and his young daughter while shouting political slogans.

“Today while walking my 3-year-old daughter a group of ‘Slava Ukraini’ protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared,” Vance wrote.

He attempted to de-escalate the situation by engaging with the demonstrators.

“I decided to speak with the protesters in the hopes that I could trade a few minutes of conversation for them leaving my toddler alone. (Nearly all of them agreed.),” he added.

Vance noted that while the conversation remained “mostly respectful,” he criticized the activists for targeting his child.

“[I]f you’re chasing a 3-year-old as part of a political protest, you’re a sh*t person,” he wrote.

This is the second time in recent weeks that Vice President Vance and his family have been confronted by activists.

Last weekend, demonstrators—many of whom supported increased U.S. aid to Ukraine—harassed Vance and his family while they were on vacation at a ski resort.

The incident follows a pattern of political harassment that has escalated in recent years.

High-profile conservatives, including Supreme Court justices, have been targeted at their homes following public calls for protest by figures such as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).

The intensity of such activism has raised concerns, particularly after a 2022 assassination attempt against Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Vance’s remarks highlight growing frustration among public figures facing harassment in personal settings.

The broader question remains: Do these activists believe these tactics will change opinions, or are they simply meant to intimidate?

Despite the tense moment, Vance appears to be taking things in stride.

As noted by observers on social media, he has embraced memes circulating about him, showing that he maintains a sense of humor even as tensions rise.
