VDH warns a ‘dangerous crescendo of hate’ for Elon Musk will lead to a ‘direct attack’

Victor Davis Hanson predicted earlier this week that the escalating attacks on Tesla could just be the beginning of something far worse.

“We’re getting very, it’s getting to a very dangerous crescendo of hate,” he said in a video uploaded by The Daily Signal. “Go on the internet. There is now an industry of people posting photos of their Cybertruck, their Y model, their X model being keyed and vandalized by young people in an organized fashion.”

“There are chargers, Tesla chargers that are being destroyed. There’s Tesla dealers that are being attacked. All against [Tesla CEO] Elon Musk,” he added.

It’s ironic, he continued, because it was only a few years ago when the left worshipped Musk as “an iconic Renaissance figure,” especially because of his efforts toward combatting climate change.

That all changed when Musk came out as a Trump-supporting conservative last year.

“This [the sudden hatred for and attacks on Musk] is one of the strangest phenomena of our time, and it should cease,” Hanson said.

“And the reason it should cease is, if this rhetoric continues and this organized domestic terrorist campaign against Tesla increases, somebody’s going to do something stupid because they are lowering the bar of what’s permissible. We know what that stupid is. It’s a direct attack on Elon Musk himself,” he added.

It’s a fair concern given that, in addition to vandalizing and firebombing Tesla dealerships and vehicles, the deranged left has also been harassing Tesla owners.

“A [Washington State] mother says she was harassed and cut off by another driver for driving a Tesla, an incident she described as terrifying and unprovoked,” according to Seattle station KCPQ.

“The confrontation, which was caught on video, occurred while she was on her way to a doctor’s appointment in Lynnwood Wednesday morning,” the reporting continues.

Speaking with the station, the unnamed mother said the insane leftist lunatic accused her of driving a “Nazi car.”

“He gets out and walks straight up to my door window. So I cracked my window and I said, ‘What? What is the problem?’” she recalled. “He goes, ‘You need to sell your car. This is a Nazi car. You’re driving it, you need to sell your car.’”

The insane man’s rhetoric was rooted in the Democrat Party lie that Musk is a Nazi. It’s a lie that was just repeated this past week on national television by disgraced former Democrat Rep. Jamaal Bowman.

“Elon Musk is incompetent in his position, and how do we know? Because they fired tens of thousands of people, it was challenged in court,” Bowman said during a CNN appearance. “The court said the people have to go back, and now the people are coming back.”

‘”He’s incompetent, he’s a thief, he’s a Nazi, and people don’t trust him, period,” the former Democrat politician added.

During his remarks for The Daily Signal, Hanson pushed back on this lie by noting that, if anything, Musk is a veritable American hero given his latest accomplishment, which was returning several stranded NASA astronauts to Earth.

“This huge Starship rocket, the largest and most powerful rocket in history, launched successfully with its Dragon capsule and it’s docked at the Space Station successfully to drop off an international crew of four and to bring back the stranded astronauts that were supposed to be only there days and for a variety of reasons we can’t get into—some of them political, perhaps—they didn’t get a chance to return for months,” he said.

“In other words, Elon Musk has developed the most successful space program in the history of space travel. He’s superseded Boeing that couldn’t pull it off. He’s superseded NASA itself. So, this should be, again, a celebratory moment,” he added.
