President Donald J. Trump shut down a media “troublemaker” who asked him about alleged friction between Secretary of State Marco Rubio and DOGE chief Elon Musk, an obvious attempt to drive a wedge between key members of the new administration.
The New York Times, which seems to now function solely as a propaganda arm of the DNC, reported on an exchange between Musk and Rubio over job cuts at Foggy Bottom, a story that was then amplified by much of the corrupt mainstream media to insinuate simmering tensions between Trump and the Tesla/SpaceX CEO, an ongoing narrative.
But the president himself stomped on the rumors along with NBC News reporter Gabe Gutierrez who interrupted while he was talking about setting up a new task force for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with some of the global soccer tournament’s games slated to be played in the United States.
President Trump just SLAMMED a fake news NBC reporter for claiming there was a “CLASH” between Elon Musk and Marco Rubio during a cabinet meeting
“No clash. I was there. You’re just a troublemaker”

“Some details have come out about your cabinet meeting with Elon Musk, and some clashes potentially between Secretary Rubio,” the reporter began before Trump shut him down.
“No clash. I was there — you’re just a troublemaker,” Trump said, cutting him off. “And you’re not supposed to be asking that question, because we’re talking about the World Cup.”
“Elon gets along great with Marco, and they’re both doing a fantastic job. There is no clash,” he added as the “troublemaker” tried to get his hook in, asking Gutierrez which media outlet he was with.
“NBC,” the reporter said.
“Ugh, no wonder,” Trump said with disgust as he turned away. “That’s enough. NBC.”
Trump’s refusal to feed the fake narrative frustrated some members of the media who have struggled to get traction for their hit pieces with the rapid fire developments coming out of the White House since Trump was sworn in for his second term.
I was chasing this story today about the row between Rubio & Musk and got beaten by the NYT (sad!)
It definitely happened. Had it not, Rubio & Musk would’ve been out w/instant denials
Trump is signaling he wants this quashed https://t.co/wvqwI4sUgR

“Trump is signaling he wants this quashed,” whined Marc Caputo of Axios who lamented that The New York Times beat him to the punch on launching the alleged “clash” between Musk and Rubio into the mainstream media ecosystem.
Musk’s role in the new administration has left Democrats and the media flummoxed and flailing with the obvious objective being to conjure up something, anything that would undermine the relationship between Trump and the X owner who has been a force multiplier for the nation’s 47th president. DOGE’s ongoing dismantling of the Democrat money laundering rackets is an existential threat to the party and its media minions.
