President Donald Trump believes the Supreme Court may need to get involved after a judge ordered the rehiring of fired federal employees.
U.S. District Judge William Alsup issued an order last week requiring the Trump administration to reinstate thousands of employees who had been let go in an attempt to shrink the size of government.
Trump addressed reporters onboard Air Force One, accusing the judge of effectively putting himself in the shoes of the president.

“It’s a judge that’s putting himself in the position of the president of the United States, who was elected by close to 80 million votes,” he said. “That’s a very dangerous thing for our country. And I would suspect that we’re going to have to get a decision from the Supreme Court.”
“And that’s a very dangerous decision for our country, because these are people in many cases, they don’t show up for work. Nobody even knows if they exist. And a judge wants us to pay them, even if they don’t know they exist and if they exist,” he explained. “And I don’t think that’s going to be happening. But we’ll have to say you have to speak to the lawyers about that.”
Meanwhile, a senior White House official spoke to Fox News Digital on Monday, revealing that the administration is ” currently appealing to the 4th and 9th Circuit.”
“In the meantime, the Administration is complying with the Court’s order. We fully expect to prevail in court.”

The president is the head of the executive branch.
He can fire people and hire people.

All decisions about presidential power and its limits should go to the Supreme Court and no other court.

Federal overreach threatens accountability. SCOTUS must uphold the rule of law.

Yes
Rehireing workers who hate half of the country is not a good thing for the country.
Who knows what they could do to them.— Debra Shaffer (@DebraSh81201691) March 17, 2025
Why is it that they think that any federal level judge is the check for Trump’s power? There’s three branches and district federal judges are not part of that, if the supreme Court were to step up, perhaps it had some light behind it.
