Trump admin to make history with groundbreaking government AI implementation for efficiency

The Trump administration will be the first in American history to officially implement the use AI technology to improve government efficiency and federal record keeping.

The U.S. Office for Personnel Management (OPM) will pave the way for Artificial Intelligence after President Trump issued an Executive Order in January vowing to “solidify [America’s] position as the global leader in AI and secure a brighter future for all Americans,” Fox News Digital reported.

“Antiquated, inefficient, and slow are words synonymous with government, all of which ended the day President Trump took office,” Harrison Fields, Principal White House Deputy Press Secretary, told Fox Digital.

“Today’s action follows the president’s historic AI Executive Order and will usher in historic efficiency at the Office of Personnel Management, streamlining the organization tasked with serving as the human resources agency and personnel policy manager for the Federal Government.”

The AI system will not be fully operational at first, but was inspired by DOGE chief and tech guru Elon Musk’s use of the technology to root out government waste.

A high-ranking White House official discussed with Fox News Digital the execution strategy, explaining that an AI system, certified by the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), will significantly accelerate the retirement procedure for approximately 2.3 million federal workers while enhancing the precision of the predominantly paper-based record system.

A White House official told Fox that the program has already been tested to be 100% accurate in a simulated scenario.

The White House issued an AI fact-sheet explaining its mission to “improve public services” and remain a top competitive force with the new technology.

Part of the fact sheet reads:

  • The Executive Branch is shifting to a forward-leaning, pro-innovation and pro competition mindset rather than pursuing the risk-averse approach of the previous
    administration.
  • The Federal Government will no longer impose unnecessary bureaucratic restrictions on the use of innovative American AI in the Executive Branch.
  • By embracing AI adoption, agencies will be more agile, cost-effective, and efficient.
  • This shift will deliver improvements to the lives of the American public while enhancing America’s global dominance in AI innovation.

A senior White House official told Fox News Digital that despite the use of AI, federal employees will still be “able to self-review and assess personal records at their discretion.”
