The Trump administration is reportedly using a clever trick to classify illegal aliens as dead so as to deny them federal benefits and prompt them into self-deporting.
The trick involves repurposing Social Security’s “death master file,” which is traditionally used to track dead people who are no longer eligible for federal benefits, to also include living illegal aliens whom the Trump administration wants out of the country.
“This [trick] prevents those impacted from being able to receive Medicaid, Medicare, unemployment insurance, federal loans or other benefits,” according to People magazine.
The goal is to target illegal aliens who have a Social Security card but have lost their legal status, such as the thousands who were arbitrarily granted temporary work status by former President Joe Biden.
Social Security Administration began classifying illegals this week as deceased in order to end access illegals had to banks and benefits that strictly rely on Social Security numbers.
This is meant to further incentivize illegals to self-deport.

“President Trump promised mass deportations and by removing the monetary incentive for illegal aliens to come and stay, we will encourage them to self deport,” White House spokesperson Elizabeth Huston said in a statement. “He is delivering on his promise he made to the American people.”
Earlier this week, the names of over 6,300 illegal aliens were added to the “death master file.” This initial group reportedly consisted only of convicted criminals and “suspected terrorists.”
“Twenty-two people listed in the 6,300 are receiving student loans, 41 are collecting unemployment insurance and 1,000 are collecting benefits through Medicaid,” People magazine notes.
This finding contradicts longstanding claims from the Democrat Party and its media allies that illegal aliens haven’t been collecting benefits that are supposed to be reserved for American citizens:

Meanwhile, the “deep” state is not happy with the Trump administration’s latest move to push out illegal aliens.
“A number of agency employees said the move to add living people to the death database is shocking and unprecedented,” according to The Washington Post. “One noted that being placed in the death database would immediately terminate Social Security benefits and that, even for those not receiving payments, it will lead to problems with employment.”
But that’s the very point of this move — to deprive illegal aliens of benefits and work, thus robbing them of any incentive to remain in the United States and leech off the American people.
As for congressional Democrats, they can’t help but outright lie about everything, including this, by conflating illegal aliens with American citizens. Take what Senate Finance Committee ranking member Ron Wyden said.
He said in a statement that this move “raises the prospect of the Trump Administration stealing legally earned Social Security benefits from American citizens, further proof that Trump’s promise to protect Social Security is a lie.”
Former Biden-era Social Security Administration (SSA) commissioner Martin O’Malley pulled the same shtick.
“If without due process, Trump and Musk can unlawfully ‘disappear’ or ‘digitally murder’ anyone who legally entered our country, then they can do it to anyone already legally here,” he told The Washington Post.

Jason Fichtner, a former Bush-era senior SSA employee, meanwhile, complained to The New York Times that Americans might accidentally get caught up in this sweep.
“Immigration enforcement is not within the scope of the Social Security Administration. The potential for errors can be very consequential,” he said.
The Times added to the fearmongering by listing out the ways that being added to the “death master file” can ruin one’s life.
“Those who have been put on the list mistakenly while still alive have reported calamitous effects, such as having their homes foreclosed and bank accounts canceled,” its report reads. “In order to be removed, they have to go to field offices to try to prove their identity, a process known internally as ‘resurrection.’ But even then the problem can take months to fix, or longer.”
