Three Dem-run states responsible for over half of US unemployment fraud: DOGE

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has found that the top three states most notorious for paying out fraudulent unemployment benefits are blue states, surprise, surprise.

“California, New York, and Massachusetts accounted for most of these improper claims, totaling $305M in unemployment benefits,” DOGE reported on X on Thursday.

“Additionally, California accounted for 68% of the unemployment benefits paid to [asylum] parolees identified by CBP [Customs and Border Protection] on the terrorist watchlist or with criminal records,” DOGE added.

Look:

That $305 million accounted for almost all of the total $382 million in fraudulent unemployment payments found by DOGE.

It’s telling that the bulk of the fraud came from states with a Democrat House, Senate, and governor.

“There’s a reason for the mass exodus from Democrat-run states that have mismanaged their economies and driven residents to the nearest Republican-led state,” White House spokesperson Harrison Fields told Fox News.

“High taxes, poor stewardship of taxpayer dollars and progressive policies continue to yield negative results, which is why Americans overwhelmingly support the work of DOGE,” she added.

This week DOGE also reported that since 2020, over 24,000 people over the age of 115 collected $59 million in unemployment benefits, while over 28,000 people between the ages of 1 and 5 collected $254 million in unemployment benefits. See the problem with that?

Worse, almost 10,000 people with birth dates over 15 years in the future collected $69 million in unemployment benefits.

DOGE boss Elon Musk was stunned by the latter finding.

“Your tax dollars were going to pay fraudulent unemployment claims for fake people born in the future!” he tweeted this week. “This is so crazy that I had to read it several times before it sank in.”

“The oldest living American is 114 years old, so it is safe to say that anyone 115 or older is collecting ‘unemployment’ due to being dead. There was no sanity check for impossibly young or impossibly old people for unemployment insurance,” he added.

“This is another incredible discovery by the DOGE team, finding nearly $400 million in fraudulent unemployment payments,” Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer told Fox News. “The Labor Department is committed to recovering Americans’ stolen tax dollars. We will catch these thieves and keep working to root out egregious fraud.”

Yet The New York Times claimed in a report published Saturday that the fuss is over nothing and that these fake people exist for a reason.

“The issue dates to early in the pandemic when millions of Americans surged onto state unemployment rolls in an unprecedented expansion of the safety net,” their strange explanation reads. “The emergency aid program enacted during President Trump’s first term was also susceptible to fraud. As many as 15 percent of unemployment claims were fraudulent, often using stolen identities.”

“To preserve records of that fraud and protect victims of the identity theft, the U.S. Labor Department encouraged state agencies that administer unemployment benefits to create ‘pseudo claim’ records — in effect, to tie real cases of fraud in their data to make-believe people. The implausibility of the records was the point. Agencies were seeking a way to keep track of fraud claims while detaching them from the identities of innocent people who might one day apply for unemployment benefits themselves,” the reporting continues.

Does that make any sense to you!?

In separate but related news, the Trump administration is reportedly using a clever trick to classify illegal aliens as dead so as to deny them federal benefits and prompt them into self-deporting.

The trick involves repurposing Social Security’s “death master file,” which is traditionally used to track dead people who are no longer eligible for federal benefits, to also include living illegal aliens whom the Trump administration wants out of the country.

“This [trick] prevents those impacted from being able to receive Medicaid, Medicare, unemployment insurance, federal loans or other benefits,” according to People magazine.

The goal is to target illegal aliens who have a Social Security card but have lost their legal status, such as the thousands who were arbitrarily granted temporary work status by former President Joe Biden.
