The Left’s vision of heaven is everyone else’s idea of hell. This is the conclusion that can be drawn from last weekend’s “Hands Off” rally and the Left’s hands-on approach in the locales they have governed over the last few years. As the Left becomes angrier and more militant, expect them to only reinforce this conclusion.

During last weekend’s nationwide “Hands Off” rallies, Fox News Digital interviewed New York City participants about their reasons for protesting and their aims. The responses were a confused cacophony, liberally sprinkled with “fascist.” For the most part, participants could not explain exactly what they opposed — other than Trump and his administration. However, even if the Left cannot always articulate their aims, Americans can clearly see them. In fact, they have seen them, in spades and across the country, over the last several years.

In New York, where the interviews occurred, Columbia University exemplifies the tail-wagging-the-dog as it is convulsed by antisemitic protests on behalf of Hamas sympathizers. The city itself is a testament to the fallout of the Left’s open border demands and is plagued by violent crime. (RELATED: Trump Is the Only One Taking Antisemitism Seriously)

In Chicago, the city has become a shooting gallery. At the same time, its unionized school teachers are demanding — and will undoubtedly receive — raises for their work in a failing school system that continues to shrink. (RELATED: For Baltimore’s Sake, Congress Should Expand School Choice)

In San Francisco, amongst its most focal problems are homelessness and drug abuse. Crime has been a California problem for years, since the state’s lefties handcuffed police — instead of criminals — by limiting their ability to prosecute theft and drug use with 2014’s Proposition 47 (repealed this past November).

Down the coast, Los Angeles is still smoldering from the wildfires that the city’s lefty mayor, Karen Bass, and other Democrat officials had not properly anticipated (though a regular occurrence there) and could not handle once they started. Yet DEI initiatives were a priority — with woke over smoke — though it is unclear how impressed the fires or the victims were by such social sensitivity.

Nor is leftist lunacy limited to the usual suspects. Maine’s governor has driven her state headlong into allowing biological boys and men to compete against Maine’s girls and women.

Going back a few years, Minneapolis set itself apart, even as it allowed itself to be set ablaze, as those claiming to be protesting the death of George Floyd were allowed to run amok for days on end.

Further to the west, Portland and Seattle competed with each other to see which could promote anarchy more. Both cities had self-proclaimed autonomous zones where the Left were allowed to run rampant — and regular locals into hiding.

On a national scale, we saw a war on fossil fuels as the Biden administration kowtowed to its leftist supporters’ demands. It also rammed through a misnamed Inflation Reduction Act (in truth, a bloated green giveaway) that was ostensibly claimed to address the inflation that its continual overspending had helped fuel.

From its beginning, the Biden administration had thrown open the borders, just as the Left had demanded — only to proclaim that, once the crisis it had created metastasized, it could do nothing to stop it. Its attention was taken instead by putting in place DEI initiatives throughout the government.

Now, as the “Hands Off” protestors so inarticulately try to proclaim, the Left is consumed with blocking DOGE from trying to streamline government and prohibiting the deportation of criminal illegal aliens.

As Americans know only too well, these examples are just the tips of the Left’s icebergs of idiocy that have bobbed up in Democrat-dominated locales.

The fact is that the only reason America’s Left are not even less well regarded, is because of the Left’s lack of penetration outside their dark blue enclaves, their victims’ exodus from the ones the Left do hold, and that those subjected to them get fed up and stop them before they run themselves even further into the ground.

If there is any doubt as to what happens when the Left is unchecked for long, just look at California’s vaunted high-speed rail system, which is billions of dollars over-budget, years behind schedule, and increasingly unlikely to ever be finished.  Or look at the Left’s Defund the Police movement that has only served to Embolden the Criminals. Or the Biden administration’s failed $7.5 billion electric vehicle charger program that had only installed a handful of chargers in three years.

The Left are forever seeking to assuage their inexplicable guilt with other Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars. They have an enduring belief that if they give people money, the recipients will be more like them and like them more. Of course, the result is that the recipients demand ever more resources from America and become an ever bigger demand on America’s resources.

The Left indeed has a vision for America, even if they cannot or will not articulate it.  Unfortunately for them, America sees it only too well.
