A new book is dropping some serious allegations about the Biden administration, including claims that Vice President Kamala Harris was very prepared for the president’s potential death.
While it’s not beyond the pale to have a plan in place for the death of the President of the United States, the book “Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House,” claims Harris had a so-called “death-pool roster” of judges to swear her in as president if Biden kicked the bucket. This list, the authors claim, was put together by Harris’s White House Communications Director Jamal Simmons.
The book, written by journalists Jonathan Allen of NBC News and Amie Parnes of The Hill, claimed that Simmons was concerned that Biden’s death would result in a Lyndon B. Johnson moment, in which he was sworn in on board Air Force One following the shocking assassination of President John F. Kennedy. He also suggested that the “Trump people” would go “apes**t” if Harris were to become president.
“Simmons believed Harris would be strengthened by an institutional stamp of approval if she were sworn in hurriedly because Biden had died unexpectedly,” the book reads. “Her legitimacy might be questioned, he worried, recalling the January 6 effort to stop Biden from being certified as president.”
It is this fear that caused him to put together a list of judges he believed President Donald Trump’s “people” would find legitimate.
“The strongest validator, he believed, would be a federal judge who had been appointed by a Republican other than Trump,” the authors explained. “He compiled a spreadsheet of those jurists across the country, down to a city-by-city breakdown, and carried it with him when he traveled with Harris.”
Simmons clarified that he never told the vice president about the roster before he left her comms team in early 2023, but he did leave a parting message with colleagues urging them to contact him if it looked like something was going to happen to Biden. The book claims that the spreadsheet of information was entrusted to another staff member, but does not list any of the names that may have been contacted in the event of an in-office death.
As BizPac Review previously reported, the same book reveals “Democratic Party officials and White House staffers were well aware of former President Biden’s frailties ahead of his choice to end his ill-fated reelection bid last summer, according to exclusive excerpts of a new book released to The Hill,” according to The Hill.
“It shows what we had to do to prepare with the unique circumstances we had, which was an eighty-plus-year-old president who was running,” said one party official, as quoted by Parnes and Allen.
