Steve Bannon is seriously working on a way for Trump to run and win again in 2028

Former Trump administration official Steve Bannon predicted on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will be elected president again in 2028.

“I’m a firm believer that President Trump will run and win again in 2028, so I’ve already endorsed President Trump,” he told host Chris Cuomo during a NewsNation appearance.

“A man like this comes along once every century if we’re a little lucky. We’ve got him now, he’s on fire, and I’m a huge supporter. I wanna see him again in 2028,” he added.

A skeptical Cuomo then brought up the fact that Trump’s term-limited.

“How do you think he gets another term?” he asked.

“We’re working on it,” Bannon replied without offering specifics. “I think we’ll have a couple of alternatives, let’s say that. We’ll see what the definition of term limit is.”

This response prompted even more questions from Cuomo.

“So you’re talking about litigating this issue?” he asked. “Because I don’t want people to listen to our interview and say, ‘Bannon’s cooking up an insurrection.’ You know what I mean? I want people to get a straight take on where your head is.”

“Chris, as you know, I’ve had greater long shots than this,” Bannon replied. “We’ve had greater long shots than Trump 2028 and we’ve got a lot of stuff we’re working on there. We’re not prepared to talk about it publicly, but in a couple months I think we will be.”

Cuomo was still confused.

“But you are not suggesting revolution or overthrow or anything that people would condemn?” the puzzled host asked.

Bannon dodged the question, forcing Cuomo to ask again.

“I just want to make it clear for people so that they can’t paint you as, you know, suggesting revolution,” he said. “Your analogy is to ’32 and how FDR extended it?”

“We are, but I firmly believe in the revolution you’re seeing going on now, the revolution of common sense to deconstruct the administrative state,” Bannon concluded.

Long-time conservative commentator and newsman Bill O’Reilly was thoroughly unimpressed with Bannon’s claim.

“That’s a fantasy and I don’t really consider those kinds of things,” he later told Cuomo. “It’s not gonna happen, never will happen. It’s not worth my time or your time. Donald Trump will serve out his second term, hopefully, he’ll be successful, and then JD Vance will run for president in ’28 unless something happens. That’s what’s gonna happen.”

This is the second time in months that Bannon has floated the idea of Trump somehow running for president again.

“[Republican lawyer] Mike Davis tells me since [the Constitution] doesn’t actually say ‘consecutive’ [terms], that, I don’t know, maybe we do it again in ’28,” he told a crowd at the New York Young Republican Club’s annual gala in December.

“Are you guys down for that — Trump ’28?” he then asked, spurring loud cheers of approval.

There’s also been chatter about Bannon himself running for president.

“In a profanity-laced interview … the MAGA firebrand repeatedly refused to rule out a presidential bid, as GOP sources close to him are increasingly speculating he is serious about running should President Donald Trump himself not campaign for a third term,” Politico reported about a week ago.

“I don’t think like a politician,” Bannon said. “All I do is back President Trump and try to move the populist national agenda and the America First agenda.”

When asked why he wouldn’t simply answer the question, he replied that the question was “too absurd.”

Yet a source allegedly close to Bannon had this to say about the matter: “I think he’s serious [about running].”

Three other people added that Bannon has long harbored his own presidential ambitions.

According to a GOP consultant who worked on Trump’s 2016 campaign, after Bannon left the Trump White House in August of 2017, he allegedly said that he’d never return “as a staffer” and that the “only time he would go back is if he were president.”
