Anti-Trump comedian Stephen Colbert has begged the “deep state” to put a stop to President Donald Trump and his sweeping agenda.
The obsessed, slobbering leftist made the plea this Thursday on “The Late Show” while complaining about Trump’s newly installed tariffs.
“Anyone feeling liberated?” Colbert began. “Worst day for our economy since COVID. Just a little reminder: This time, he’s the disease. One bit of good news coming out all this [is] it’s all pretty solid proof that there is no ‘deep state,’ because if there was, they would have stopped this.”
“But if they do exist, I just want to say to the cabal of financial and governmental elites who pull all the strings behind the scenes: Maybe put a pause on your 5G chip JFK Jr. adrenochrome chemtrail orgy and jump in here because we’re f–king dying,” he added.

Colbert also noted that the tariffs just placed by Trump are “the most severe trade tariffs since 1930.”
“Ah yes, the 1930s Smoot-Hawley tariffs, just one of the reasons we remember Herbert Hoover as our greatest president, that’s why they named all those vacuums after him because… he didn’t suck,” he said.
“Now, worrywart historians believe that the 1930s tariffs were responsible for a two-thirds decline in international trade and led to a global depression. Doesn’t mean it’s going to happen again, but just in case, we should all practice our sad Dust Bowl Migrant Mother pose,” he added.
During the same monologue, Colbert also took a shot at Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) boss Elon Musk for having failed to get the Republican candidate elected in Wisconsin’s state Supreme Court race.
“A lot of folks are happy about this partly because it keeps the court’s 4-3 liberal majority,” the comedian said. “But mostly because it is terrible news for Elon Musk. Spending all that money, spending all that cash, just to watch the whole thing burst into flames. Now he knows what it’s like to buy a Tesla.”

According to The New York Times, a bunch of other comedians also commented on the tariffs.
“Is this a mistake? Look, I know old people butt-dial strangers all the time, but this is the first time I’ve heard of someone butt-tariffing an entire country,” comedian Michael Kosta said.
“Everyone’s wondering how Trump decided on a tariff rate for each country. Well, it turns out a very precise mathematical formula was created. And then Trump just said, ‘Forget that — we’re doing it Plinko style,’” comedian Jimmy Fallon said.
“President Trump yesterday announced a base line tariff affecting more than 180 countries, including a group of uninhabited islands near Antarctica. So, let that be a warning to you, great Pacific garbage patch,” comedian Seth Meyers said.

As for the stock market’s decline, close Trump ally Stephen Moore, the economist, told Fox News host Jesse Watters on Friday that the blame lies entirely with China.
“The real villain here is China,” he said. “And, as you know, the reason the market tanked today is because China tried to retaliate against it. I think that was like an economic declaration of war against the United States.”
“They are an enemy of the United States. They’re engaged in predatory trade practices. They don’t play by the rules. They cheat, and they steal. That’s the country we have to bring to heel here,” he added.
He continued by claiming that if America ultimately wins the ongoing “trade war,” it could do bundles of damage to China.
“They cannot win a trade war with the United States,” he said. “They cannot possibly win that. And Trump is using that leverage to force them to play by the rules.”
China responded to Trump’s tariffs by introducing its own tariffs.
“China’s Finance Ministry said it will match Mr. Trump’s plan for 34 percent tariffs on goods from China with its own 34 percent tariff on imports from the United States,” according to the Times.
“Separately, China’s Ministry of Commerce said it was adding 11 American companies to its list of ‘unreliable entities,’ essentially barring them from doing business in China or with Chinese companies.”
