South Park Features Trump, Diddy And Canada In Edgy New Trailer

“South Park” is set to shake things up like never before with its explosive new trailer, unveiled Wednesday.

The trailer for the 27th season confronted some of today’s hottest topics head-on and promises to keep fans at the edge of their seats. “South Park” cranked the sarcasm scale higher than usual with a sharp twist to their usual antics. The trailer featured some sharp digs at Elon Musk’s ketamine use, and veered into a full-on war waged against Canada. Clips from the upcoming season flashed on the screen like rapid-fire, as the narrator said, “Times have changed…”

“South Park’s” fan-favorite character Randy Marsh made his debut in the clip by offering his daughter ketamine, and took some time to explain the reasons he felt she could really benefit from it.

France and Canada were introduced in a chaotic political scene that satirized the deteriorating relationship between the U.S. and its allies. Canadian forces armed with hockey sticks rushed across a battlefield and French boats tugged with all their might in an apparent attempt to reclaim the Statue of Liberty. Recent news of several airplane crashes took front and center as the memes and jokes continued.

The trailer featured several mid-air collisions, as airplanes burst into flames and fell to the ground in balls of fire. Butters was seen in an air traffic control tower, clearly distraught over the plane crashes happening around him, as he informed everyone around him that they would be fired.

The series took a few jabs at Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, showing the disgraced rapper floating around space with a jet pack while surrounded by kids. The letters “MDC” were written across his clothing, mocking his incarceration at the notorious Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

“South Park” spoofed the Los Angeles wildfires by showing their fictional town ablaze, as the camera panned the destruction. (RELATED: ‘MobLand’ Trailer Featuring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan Gives Fans Something To Get Excited About)

The short clip showcased toilets overflowing with poop and ended with a faded voice shouting “blame Canada,” to get a final jab in before the credits rolled.

Season 27 is set to premiere July 9 on Comedy Central.
