REPORT: Police Accuse ‘NYPD Blue’ Actress Kim Delaney Of Assault With A Deadly Weapon

Police reportedly arrested former “NYPD Blue” actress Kim Delaney on Saturday after a domestic dispute connected to the star and her partner, James Morgan, sources said.

Law enforcement sources said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) deputies responded to Delaney’s Los Angeles residence at approximately 10 a.m. after a fierce argument led to violence, according to TMZ. Paramedics reportedly arrived on-scene and medically cleared both Delaney and Morgan, at which point police proceeded to take them both into custody. Authorities charged Delaney with felony assault likely to cause great bodily injury and Morgan with charges of misdemeanor domestic violence. The LASD’s inmate information website logged Delaney’s arrest at 10:15 a.m.

The LASD’s Marina Del Rey Sheriff’s Station told People that Morgan was arrested a half-hour before Delaney was with a bail amount set at $20,000. The station’s spokesperson said the 63-year-old actress was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and confirmed both parties were still in custody on March 30. Delaney’s bail details were not disclosed.

Delaney appeared as Detective Diane Russell on 137 episodes of  “NYPD Blue” from 1995 to 2003. She won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 1997 for her role on the show.

The actress also has a number of other television credits to her name, including “CSI Miami,” “Philly,” “Army Wives” and the long-running soap opera “All My Children.”

This alleged domestic incident was not her first run-in with the law. She was arrested on charges of driving while drunk in Malibu in 2002 and faced a lawsuit from a motorcyclist after allegedly fleeing a crash scene in Los Angeles in 2024, according to TMZ.
