A misleading headline led to a classy smackdown for The Daily Beast after they messed with the wrong congresswoman.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna cleared the air in epic fashion after the left-leaning outlet covered an Axios report by Alex Isenstadt. According to the article, Trump reportedly told Luna that she could use his bed as long as Melania Trump didn’t find out.
“If you need a bed to lay down in, there’s one here on the plane. If you feel sick and you need to lay there, you can lay on it. Just don’t tell Melania. She doesn’t like other women on my bed,” the president allegedly said.
This made for some juicy gossip for the left, who immediately jumped on the story. The Beast put the most egregious part of the alleged quote in their headline, which read “‘Don’t Tell Melania’: Trump Once Offered Rising MAGA Star His Bed.”

Luna responded to the “nasty headline” with all the confidence of someone about to blast through misinformation.
I seldom respond to nasty headlines because I don’t like giving trash credibility, however, being that there is allegedly a book coming out with me named and attacking @POTUS , his marriage, our first lady, and frankly implying something distasteful about me, I am responding.… https://t.co/D1QyG0eYde

“I seldom respond to nasty headlines because I don’t like giving trash credibility, however, being that there is allegedly a book coming out with me named and attacking [Trump,] his marriage, our first lady, and frankly implying something distasteful about me, I am responding,” she wrote in her X post.
“I was very pregnant and at the time experiencing pre-eclampsia symptoms, but was not diagnosed. As soon as [Trump] boarded the plane, being the gentleman and good person that he is, said if I did not feel well, I could use the back room. He did this in a respectful way and in front of my husband, of which we thanked him. He also assured me that they had a medical team on board in case anything happened and they were aware of how pregnant I was,” the statement continued.
“This was the most compassionate thing that could’ve been done at the time. I find it disgusting that the author fails to recognize that. A few weeks later, I was induced because I did have pre-eclampsia. The author of this book never reached out to me for comment. Which means that this book is likely going to be a shit hit piece. If people in POTUS orbit are talking to this author, they need to be cut off immediately. This is gross.”
X users responded to her truth bomb:
This is appalling

I don’t think they do anything but hit pieces. They go after me a few times per year.

I’m glad you had a space to rest. And happy that @POTUS made sure you were comfortable. I had severe pre-eclampsia and they did an emergency C section because labor was too dangerous. These people are disgusting liars. Someday they will get it back in spades.

It’s disgusting that this author could write such lies and get away with it. This really needs to end. if this a journalist outright lied, then he needs to be sued.

Very classy move on the presidents part. I have a feeling them saying you were told to not tell his wife is nothing more than a slander. That is ridiculous.
