Police cam captures moment teacher is arrested for rape of student, 15, as confused husband watches

Bodycam footage shows the tense moment a married Chicago teacher is arrested for the alleged rape of a 15-year-old student.

Christina Formella, 30, was confronted by officers in her driveway as her confused husband, Michael, looked on. The Downers Grove South High School teacher was about to receive a rude reality check and police guided her behind her vehicle and broke the news of their investigation to her.

The officer asks a visibly confused Formella to step out of the couple’s vehicle, promising to explain everything to her in due time. She expresses her hesitation but complies with the officer’s request and repeatedly asks what is going on. Michael questions if she is “going somewhere,” completely unaware that his wife and college sweetheart is about to be arrested and accused of inappropriate sexual relations with a child.

The tight-lipped officer was able to provide few details, but did inform the woman that there had been an “investigation” and her presence was required at the police station to answer a few questions. She recoiled once she was told she would be put in handcuffs, offering to go willingly with the cop, but to no avail. She was cuffed and placed in the back of the squad car.

Another video shows Formella’s reaction to learning her charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and criminal sexual assault against a minor. The special education teacher is seen weeping and hyperventilating as she steps back into the police vehicle.

According to texts allegedly sent from the teacher to the minor student, Formella confessed her “love” for the student and expressed her satisfaction with their sexual encounter.

“I love you sooooo much baby… Even though this morning was short, it was perfect,” she reportedly wrote, later saying “I love having sex with you.”

Her bizarre attempt at defense has also gained much attention. Court documents reportedly reveal she claims she never had any intimate relationship with the student, asserting “everybody comes after her because she is good looking.” She also placed blame on the student by saying he had “grabbed her phone unattended, had entered her passcode… had sent the message to his phone, had then deleted the message from her phone, and had saved it to his phone as blackmail.”
