The Los Angeles Times’ surgeon owner explained why he believes “it’s not a coincidence” that cancer rates were on the rise in the wake of COVID: “Now you understand what keeps me awake at night.”
Propaganda, blanket responses and the rampant spread of actual mis- and disinformation as it relates to COVID were considered by many to be integral in the dramatic distrust of medical professionals that had permeated society. Sitting down with Tucker Carlson, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong suggested a connection between the shots and cancer that stunned the commentator into reacting, “It sounds like you’re describing what could be like the worst human health crisis in history.”
Put simply, the medical researcher behind a number of cancer-fighting trials expressed concerns that COVID was an oncogenic virus and that its cancer-causing potential was rooted in the spike protein, present in people who’d either contracted the virus or taken the shots from Pfizer and Moderna.
Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong is a surgeon who made billions inventing cancer drugs. He says that Covid, and the vaccines that didn’t stop it, are likely causing a global epidemic of terrifyingly aggressive cancers.

Soon-Shiong detailed that, “whether it comes from the vaccine, which is a spike protein vaccine, or from the infection, which is spike-driven, that gets into every cell of our body,” and those spike proteins were said to bond with receptors ultimately suppressing the immune system’s response and ability to eliminate diseased cells.
“It goes wherever you have this thing called the ACE2 receptor, which is in the blood vessels. So wherever you have a blood vessel in the body, it’s where it’s going to go … because that’s the purpose of spike protein, to penetrate, to hijack that ACE2 and get into their cells,” the doctor went on, pointing to issues with brain fog as well as sudden heart attacks and colon cancer increases among. young people.
“Now you understand what keeps me awake at night,” he told Carlson. “You see young people with pancreatic cancer all of a sudden. You see young people with colon cancer all of a sudden.”
“So is it by coincidence that post-COVID infection, post-COVID vaccine, we’ve seen all these events where we know the spike protein goes there? I don’t think so. I think it’s not a coincidence,” he went on as the host determined, “By your definition, we just solved the mystery right there.”
Soon-Shiong was hardly the first person to draw a correlation between the concerted response to the virus and unexpected illnesses and death. What had been mocked at the height of the rollout of shots had turned into a commonplace suggestion and initial question regarding vaccination status and fatalities.
Last fall, comedian Rob Schneider had done exactly that when news of former NBA player Dikembe Mutombo’s cancer death spread. “Rest in Peace… I’m sure this is just (another) coincidence. But I took a pass on the Jab and I’m gonna not let anyone I know (and who will Listen) get it either!”
On the research side, it was previously reported that Dr. Maarten Fornerod, a molecular biology researcher in cell biology and cancer genetics, had addressed adverse impacts from the COVID shots. In particular, a study published in April 2024 had drawn a link between the aggressive promotion of the pharmaceutical intervention and “turbo cancer” in Japan.
“So in 2021 it’s already significant and in 2022 it becomes statistically more significant,” he said of the rise in cancer rates across Japan after a decade of downward trends. Pointing to other clinician studies, he noted, “But of course, these are anecdotes. But I think anecdotes from clinicians you could probably have to take seriously because a good doctor has experience and has some sort of filter, historical filter, of when things are unusual.”

Similarly, renowned cardiologist, epidemiologist and internist Dr. Peter McCullough’s The McCullough Foundation had sounded the alarm on an “aggressive cancer called Angioimmunoblastic T Cell Lymphoma” around the same time based on a study linking the mRNA injections to lymph node enlargement.
“It scares the pants off me because I don’t think it’s virus versus man now. This is existential. I think when I talk about the largest non-infectious pandemic that we’re afraid of, this is it,” Soon-Shiong told Carlson
It wasn’t all doom and gloom from the entrepreneur as he called out the likes of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Marty Makary landing spots in President Donald Trump’s administration as Health and Human Services secretary and FDA commissioner respectively.
“I think we have a chance now to completely turn this around,” he said with optimism about the mission to return to “gold standard science.”
