The Buckeyes are headed to D.C.!
During the first term of President Donald Trump, sports champions turning down invitations from the White House was the “thing” to do.
Fast forward to 2025, and things are completely different.
Winning the College Football Playoff national championship back in January, Ohio State is now the latest to accept an invitation from Trump to visit him at the White House. (RELATED: ‘Thank You For Your Service’: Tennessee’s Bruce Pearl Praises Scott Jennings For Making CNN Watchable)
During a press conference Monday, head coach Ryan Day confirmed that he and his team will be visiting the president, doing so on Apr. 14.
Like Trump’s second term, Day made one hell of a comeback in 2024. In December, the skipper was going through it after the Buckeyes suffered a fourth consecutive loss to Michigan. In fact, a lot of the OSU faithful wanted Day fired, with many saying that his job could only be retained if he won a national championship.
Well, Day did just that, and now he’s headed to the White House!

It’s nice to see this culture shift.
I mean, damn, it was a little heartbreaking those first four years to see so many Americans hate Trump when all he was just trying to do was help us. Now, people appreciate it. It’s nice to see.
Have fun with the president, Ohio State.
