New study finds ‘staggering’ amount of money used to infuse DEI into government under Biden

After the Biden administration facilitated the rapid spread of “pernicious ideologies,” a new study revealed the “staggering” DEI tab foot by American taxpayers.

The Department of Government Efficiency commendably continued efforts at locating and eliminating waste, fraud and abuse within the federal government, but even they welcomed insight from the public. In furthering the goal of both slashing spending and purging leftist ideologies, a new study located over $1.1 trillion in spending under then-President Joe Biden toward advancing diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.

According to a joint study conducted by the Center for Renewing America and the Functional Government Initiative produced the report, “DEI Spending in the Biden Administration,” following Biden’s day one Executive Order 13985, at least 460 programs spanning 24 government agencies had utilized taxpayer money toward DEI.

“This order mandated a whole of government approach to injecting DEI philosophy into the federal budget,” read the report. “In alignment with this directive, the Biden administration apparently spent trillions in DEI-related initiatives in a manner and at a speed that has shrouded public awareness of the financial burden.”

“The numbers are staggering. The cumulative budget of these programs exceeds $1.1 trillion,” the study found. “However, this figure does not encompass all DEI-related expenditures, nor does it include every program across these agencies. The findings reveal a substantial increase in DEI spending, largely attributable to policy directives under the Biden administration.”

“Of the programs identified,” continued the report, “10 are exclusively dedicated to DEI and could be considered for quick eliminations; 144 allocate significant resources to DEI initiatives and should be reviewed if those are to be ended; and 306 programs incorporate DEI to varying degrees, though the extent of their DEI focus is indeterminate based on the available documentation.”

It also provided the breakdown of the budget per agency that added up to over $1.1 trillion while explaining the search expanded beyond key terms like “racial equity” and “inclusion” as it looked past stated primary missions to each individual program’s practice. “This approach ensures the identification of initiatives wherein DEI…is present. This breadth of analysis facilitates a rigorous identification process of programs with DEI components, and yields a holistic understanding of federal commitments in this domain.”

Commenting on the report, CRA senior adviser Wade Miller told Fox News Digital, “DEI is deeply rooted throughout all aspects of the federal government, and it needs to be eliminated completely.”

“Thankfully, the Trump administration has already embarked on a vitally necessary complete audit of each and every government program,” he added. “We offer, in this report, what we hope are additional resources and tools that the new administration and Congress can use to identify, destroy and permanently remove DEI from the federal government.”

Likewise, FGI spokesman Roderick Law expressed, “The nature of DEI is both divisive and anti-American, so why force it onto the military or the Commerce Department or the EPA? After President Biden lavishly funded and pushed these controversial principles into every possible area of government, our hope is that raising these questions and offering Congress and responsible executive branch officials tools and suggestions can keep it from happening again.”

He suggested the study “could both expedite the elimination of DEI from the executive branch and show just how quickly pernicious ideologies can spread inside the government.”

Pinned to the top of the Department of Government Efficiency’s X account, the organization encouraged the public to “DM insight for reducing waste, fraud, and abuse, along with any helpful insights or awesome ideas, to the relevant DOGE affiliates (found on the Affiliates tab).”

Further, while “Striving for maximum government transparency,” DOGE launched a “Payments” tab on its government website that was being filled with how taxpayer money was being spent, “and soon the justifications,” with over 37,000 grant payments already posted.
