The party condemned the attack, calling it “fueled by hatred and intolerance,” and described it as an assault on the party’s values, freedoms, and political expression.

The RPNM shared photos of the damage, showing the burned entryway and soot marks on the walkway.

Another image depicted the words “ICE=KKK” spray-painted in red on the headquarters’ wall.

The party characterized the act as part of a growing trend of politically motivated violence across the U.S. and suggested that progressive leaders’ failure to condemn such violence has contributed to an environment where these kinds of attacks are becoming more frequent.

“Their failure to stand against political violence has created an environment where attacks like this are not only possible but increasingly frequent,” the statement from the RPNM read.

In the statement, RPNM Chairwoman Amy Barela expressed relief that no one was injured in what could have been a tragic attack.

She emphasized that those responsible for acts of violence aimed at undermining the state and the nation must be held accountable.

“We are deeply relieved that no one was harmed in what could have been a tragic and deadly attack. Those who resort to violence to undermine our state and nation must be held accountable, and our state leaders must reinforce through decisive action that these cowardly attacks will not be tolerated,” she said.

Barela also confirmed that the party is collaborating with local and federal authorities, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), as the investigation into the arson continues.

“The Republican Party of New Mexico will not be silenced. We will emerge from this stronger, more united, and more determined to fight for the people of New Mexico and the future of our country,” Barela continued.

“Our fight is not just for our party—it’s for every New Mexican who wants a safer, freer, and more accountable state. We will never back down.”

The incident has also drawn a response from New Mexico House Democrats, who issued a statement condemning the violence.

“New Mexico House Democrats condemn political violence in all of its forms,” the statement read.

“We are grateful that no one was hurt in this senseless act. We appreciate law enforcement’s swift response and expect that those responsible will be held accountable.”

The attack on the Republican Party of New Mexico’s headquarters is under investigation, and officials are urging anyone with information to come forward.

As the investigation unfolds, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the politically charged atmosphere in the United States and the ongoing challenges to prevent politically motivated violence.
