Musk calls Walz ‘a huge jerk’ for cheering Tesla stock’s crash

Tesla CEO Elon Musk ripped Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz for the former vice presidential candidate’s comments applauding the car giant’s stock plummet.

Mr. Walz belittled the electric vehicle company’s stock plunge this month during an event in Wisconsin amid a discussion about Mr. Musk’s involvement in firings of federal employees and government funding freezes while exposing billions of dollars of waste and possible fraud.

“There’s this thing on my phone, I know some of you know this, on the iPhone. They’ve got that little stock app,” Mr. Walz said. “I added Tesla to it to give me a little boost during the day.”

Tesla’s stock price cratered the past few months since he became the face of President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, falling over 50%.

Tesla dealerships nationwide have been subject to liberals’ vandalism, with gunfire, Molotov cocktails and graffiti targeting Mr. Musk.

In the District of Columbia, the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating vandalism of Tesla dealerships as “political hate speech.”

Mr. Musk, during an interview this week with Fox News’ Bret Baier, said dealerships across the country being firebombed has jarred sales since  Tesla customers stateside and abroad are intimidated.

“I mean, you have Tim Walz, who’s a huge jerk, running on stage when the Tesla stock price has gone in half, and he was overjoyed,” he said. “What an evil thing to do. What a creep, what a jerk.”

He added, “Like, who derives joy from that?”

Mr. Musk noted that Minnesota’s state pension fund is a major investor in Tesla. Indeed, a report from the Minnesota State Board of Investment released last year found that the state held 1.6 million shares of Tesla stock in that fund.

“But he didn’t care,” Mr. Musk said. “He was so overjoyed by Tesla stock going down. Does that sound like a good person to you? I don’t think so.”

Mr. Trump has supported his efficiency bloodhound in the wake of attacks against Tesla dealerships, dubbing the vandalism as domestic terrorism. That’s exactly what the Justice Department charged three Tesla-targeting people with this week.
