The former First Lady’s podcast, IMO (In My Opinion), which debuted in early March, is seeing low engagement across major platforms despite a large promotional rollout and a high-profile guest list.
The podcast features Michelle Obama alongside her brother, Craig Robinson, in weekly conversations meant to be lighthearted and relatable.

Despite the promotional effort, the show is struggling to find a strong listener base.

Video clips from the podcast posted on YouTube are seeing limited traffic, with some recent uploads receiving fewer than 10,000 views.
The show’s most viewed clip so far—a conversation about beets—has garnered approximately 39,000 views in three weeks.
The numbers place IMO well behind other leading podcasts in the entertainment and political categories.
Programs like The Tucker Carlson Show, The Joe Rogan Experience, and Call Her Daddy continue to dominate the charts on both platforms.
The launch of IMO came with a promotional campaign led by Higher Ground, the media company founded by Barack and Michelle Obama.
The company released a press statement before the launch, which was featured in entertainment outlets including The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline.
The press release highlighted the podcast’s weekly format and announced an initial lineup of guests such as Issa Rae, Tyler Perry, and Keke Palmer.
Michelle Obama herself promoted the podcast as a platform where listeners could relax and reflect during a time of national political change.
“With everything going on in the world, we’re all looking for answers and people to turn to,” Obama said at the time of the launch.
However, despite the attention and the rollout, the podcast has not gained the traction the promotional campaign may have anticipated.

Conservative commentary from outlets like RedState predicted the slow start.
In an article following the first episode, columnist Nick Arama wrote, “A podcaster has to have some appealing element, and to be honest, I can’t see any with her. She just comes across as angry and preachy. That’s not attractive. Podcasts thrive when the hosts are relatable. I don’t think this is going to last long.”
The debut episode, titled You Should Start a Podcast With Your Sibling, introduced the show’s format and tone.
As of now, the public response has not matched the initial publicity.

Higher Ground has not issued a follow-up statement in response to the podcast’s performance.
New episodes of IMO are still being released on schedule across streaming platforms.
Whether the show gains traction or fades from public interest remains to be seen.
For now, IMO continues to trail behind other leading programs in a crowded and competitive podcast market.
