MSNBC hosts Nicolle Wallace and Rachel Maddow are facing backlash after their negative comments about DJ Daniel, a young cancer survivor honored by President Donald Trump during his recent speech.
Their remarks were so controversial that Trump himself addressed them, suggesting that both Wallace and Maddow should lose their jobs over their remarks about the 13-year-old honoree.
During an episode of The Megyn Kelly Show podcast, Megyn Kelly criticized Wallace for her response to DJ Daniel’s moment with Trump, calling it jaw-dropping and an example of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).
Elon Musk Called This Financial News ‘Terrifying’
“I don’t know what’s happened to this person. She used to be a Republican. She was the person who shepherded Chief Justice John Roberts through his confirmation process. It’s Nicolle Wallace, who now, I think, her next job will be with the Lincoln Project,” Kelly said.
Kelly played Wallace’s reaction to DJ Daniel’s moment with Trump and pointed out that even MSNBC panelists Jen Psaki and Rachel Maddow appeared visibly uncomfortable with Wallace’s commentary.
“We went back and looked to see what the reaction on set was… even her fellow panelists, from Jen Psaki to Rachel Maddow, you could see Jen Psaki literally leaning away from her, and even Rachel Maddow, without commenting on that, just moved away, bridged away to another topic. When you’ve gone too far for Psaki and Maddow, you’ve gone too far, period.”
During his speech, Trump honored DJ Daniel, a 13-year-old cancer survivor, by making him an honorary member of the Secret Service.
The moment, which was widely celebrated, showed Daniel’s eyes lighting up as he hugged the Secret Service Director in an emotional embrace.
WHOLESOME: President Trump just made 13-year-old DJ Daniel an honorary Secret Service agent.
DJ, who dreamed of being a police officer, was given months to live years ago due to a rare cancer.

Instead of recognizing the moment, Wallace made a remark that Kelly described as completely inappropriate, saying, “I hope he doesn’t die on President Trump’s Capitol Hill.”
Kelly pointed to Wallace’s remarks as proof of how deep Trump Derangement Syndrome runs in liberal media.
“There’s no curing you of TDS once you get it. It’s a lifelong affliction, and it really does warp the way you see everything around you,” Kelly said.
“You see the pot of gold, and to you it looks like crap. You see a wonderful event for a child, and instead, you see only doom, gloom, and darkness if it has anything to do with the orange man.”
She added that MSNBC’s ratings have continued to struggle, despite being in the so-called opposition media, unlike conservative outlets that historically see viewership increases when Democrats are in power.
“When you’re in the opposition, your numbers go up. At Fox News, our numbers always went up when we were in the so-called opposition… Their numbers are not going up under MSNBC. Post-election, they’re still withering on the vine.”

Despite growing criticism, MSNBC has not issued a statement addressing the controversy over Wallace’s remarks.
Neither Wallace nor Maddow have publicly commented on the backlash.
As calls for accountability grow, Kelly’s remarks add to the mounting criticism against MSNBC’s coverage and anti-Trump rhetoric.
