Rep. Maxine Waters, the longtime Democrat agitator from California, had another dramatic episode on Monday when she attempted to storm the headquarters of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), as reported by The Gateway Pundit.
The 86-year-old career politician was in a fury over budget cuts initiated by DOGE, a move aimed at eliminating $260 million in wasteful contracts.

HUD’s decision to slash wasteful spending will result in a 50% reduction in its workforce, a reality that sent Waters and her Democrat allies into a frenzy.
Elon Musk Called This Financial News ‘Terrifying’
She joined Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen and a group of like-minded leftists in a performative protest outside the HUD building, demanding to meet with HUD Secretary Scott Turner.
But their attempt to grandstand hit a brick wall. Security stopped Waters and her entourage at the entrance, and Turner’s Chief of Staff informed them that he was “too busy” to accept their letter of grievances. Ouch.
This tantrum wasn’t just about budget cuts—it was also another opportunity for Waters to attack Elon Musk. During her rally, she bizarrely dragged the billionaire into her rant, declaring, “Elon Musk’s 13 children sleep good at night. What happens to the other children in America?”—a desperate and irrelevant jab that only highlighted how detached she’s become.

Despite being blocked initially, Waters eventually made her way inside to deliver the letter, but it was HUD’s fiery response that truly stole the show.

Just witnessed Maxine Waters try to demand her way into hand delivering an anti-DOGE letter to HUD’s @SecretaryTurner while he was in a meeting

Fox News reporter Chad Pergram reported the department’s scathing reply to Waters’ protest:
“The Department appreciates the Congresswoman’s interest in DOGE. While she has questions for the Department about how it is efficiently and effectively using taxpayer dollars, the Department also has questions for her, including:
– Is it true that members of her family profited from her position as an elected official? This was reported by the LA Times.
– Does she agree with Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics that she is one of the ‘most corrupt’ Members of Congress? Does she think she deserved to win the award four times?
– Would she be open to leading by example and allowing DOGE to ensure that she is using taxpayer dollars responsibly to serve Californians? If not, what does she have to hide?
– Did she enjoy the 47-minute video of President Trump’s accomplishments playing in the lobby?”
Brutal.
This is exactly why Americans voted for change. HUD’s unapologetic response put Waters in her place, exposing the hypocrisy of a woman who has been accused of corruption multiple times while lecturing others about government spending.
Instead of throwing tantrums over responsible budget cuts, perhaps she should focus on answering the real questions about her own ethics—or lack thereof.
