FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General of the United States Pam Bondi jointly announced a major drug bust on Wednesday involving the seizure of over $509 million in narcotics linked to two Mexican drug cartels, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.
Speaking at a press conference, Bondi confirmed that the Coast Guard intercepted nearly 45,000 pounds of cocaine and 3,800 pounds of marijuana during recent operations. The combined value of the narcotics is estimated to exceed half a billion dollars.
According to Bondi, the seized cocaine alone equates to 20 million potentially lethal doses.

Authorities believe the shipments originated from the Jalisco Nueva Generación and Sinaloa cartels, both of which were recently designated as foreign terrorist organizations by President Donald Trump.
“This is a major blow to their financial operations and their efforts to distribute drugs throughout our country. It’s an example of a prosecutor-led, intelligent, driven approach to stopping these criminal enterprises in their tracks.”
At least eleven suspects have been taken into custody in connection to the intercepted drug shipments. Bondi emphasized the deadly impact the drugs could have had if they reached the streets.
“This cocaine would have been distributed throughout our country and perhaps throughout our world. These defendants will be held accountable for bringing this poison into our country.”

She also commended the efforts of law enforcement, noting:
“I always say, if we can save one life, one life, we have done amazing work, and today we have saved thousands and thousands of lives as a result of this incredible cooperation.”
FBI Director Kash Patel addressed the broader implications of the bust and the agency’s approach going forward. He warned that the era of unchecked cartel activity within the United States is coming to an end.
Patel stated that drug cartels would “no longer going to be free to roam across our country.”
“We are going to dismantle the next-man-up theory that has been breeding in these Mexican cartels for generations.”
Patel described the cartels as the deadliest threat currently facing American citizens.
“There is no lethal force on planet Earth that is responsible for an overdose death of an American citizen every seven minutes, more so than these federal terrorist organizations, foreign terrorist organizations.”

The Trump administration has not ruled out potential military action as a future option to target and eliminate cartel operations across the southern border.
