Legal victory for Christian evangelist who was prosecuted even though he was the victim of Islamist threats

A Wolverhampton judge has thrown out a case brought against a Christian preacher after an Islamist mob threatened to ‘cut his throat’ for criticising Islam.

At a hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court, recorder G. Kelly threw out the case against preacher Karandeep Mamman, 33, who had been accused of hate speech.

Kelly said that because the Crown had refused to offer any evidence to the charges of religiously aggravated section 4A of the Public Order Act, only a verdict of ‘not guilty’ could be entered against Mamman.
