LeBron James Gets a ‘LeBarbie’ Doll—No, Seriously [WATCH]

While Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James may not finish the NBA season with another championship trophy, he will take center stage in a new way this April — as a Barbie doll.

Toy manufacturer Mattel has unveiled the first installment in its new “Kenbassador” series, featuring a doll modeled after the 39-year-old NBA star.

The doll, part of a new campaign designed to spotlight influential male role models, goes on sale April 14.

“As a young kid, I was fortunate to have role models who not only inspired me but also showed me what’s possible through hard work and dedication,” James said in a statement.

“Now, as an adult, I understand how vital it is for young people to have positive figures to look up to. That’s why partnering with Barbie to release the LeBron James ‘Kenbassadors’ doll is such an honor. It’s an opportunity to recognize the powerful impact of role models who instill confidence, inspire dreams, and show kids that they, too, can achieve greatness.”

According to Sports Illustrated, James was directly involved in designing the doll, which features custom attire and references to his personal brand and charitable work.

The figure wears a varsity-style jacket featuring an “LJ” on the front, a crown patch and Ohio emblem on one sleeve, and his iconic jersey number 23 on the other.

The back of the jacket displays his name, “LeBron,” above the phrase “Just a kid from Akron.”

The doll also wears a “We Are Family” shirt, referencing the LeBron James Family Foundation, which provides educational resources and scholarships for students in Akron, Ohio.

In addition to the personalized outfit, the figure includes product placements from several of James’s major sponsors.

The doll comes equipped with Nike Dunk Hi Retro sneakers and Beats by Dre headphones.

The LeBron James Kenbassador doll is priced at $75 and will be sold both in-store and online.

Retailers carrying the product include Target, Amazon, Walmart, and Mattel Creations.

James is the first figure to be featured in the Kenbassador line, a new series from Mattel that seeks to expand the reach of the Barbie brand by featuring well-known men in influential roles.

Mattel has not announced which public figures may follow James in future releases.

The announcement of the doll comes as the Lakers remain in contention for a spot in the NBA Playoffs but face significant challenges in the Western Conference.

James, now in his 21st NBA season, has not indicated whether this will be his final year on the court.

Mattel has not yet released projections or initial interest numbers for the new product, and it remains to be seen how the doll will perform with consumers.
