John Brennan Has a Bizarre Response to Trump’s Greenland Ideas [WATCH]

Former CIA Director John Brennan, who played a key role in the Russian collusion hoax and signed the controversial memo dismissing Hunter Biden’s laptop as “Russian disinformation,” recently compared President Trump’s proposal to purchase Greenland to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Brennan, known for his outspoken views on national security matters, made the comparison during an appearance on MSNBC.

Former Republican National Committee Chairman turned MSNBC host, Steele, asked Brennan to “level” the Greenland situation for viewers.

He referred to the recent comments made by U.S. Senator J.D. Vance, who proposed that the U.S. should annex Greenland, which led to Brennan’s harsh response.

In a clip played by Steele, Vance had voiced his criticisms of Denmark’s treatment of Greenland and suggested that a U.S. acquisition of the territory could serve as an economic boost for the region.

While the idea of U.S. annexation has yet to gain significant traction in Greenland, the majority of Greenlanders have expressed a desire for independence from Denmark.

Trump’s stance on Greenland, which he proposed purchasing during his time in office, centers around national security concerns, particularly due to the growing influence of Russia and China in the Arctic region.

Greenland plays a key role in early missile detection systems and defense, with the U.S. maintaining Thule Air Base on its northwestern coast.

The base is the U.S. military’s northernmost installation and plays a critical role in missile detection and space surveillance, including monitoring Russian missile launches.

Despite these strategic considerations, Brennan dismissed the Trump administration’s security goals, comparing the peaceful acquisition of Greenland to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

After briefly acknowledging Greenland’s strategic importance, Brennan criticized Vance’s comments as “extremely insulting” to Denmark, a key NATO ally.

He said, “Believe me, the Danes are great partners. They would do everything possible along with our NATO partners to try to secure Greenland if there’s any type of threat or encroachment from Russia or China.”

Brennan argued that the United States should work in partnership with Denmark on Greenland’s security concerns, rather than pursue unilateral action.

He stated, “But to say that we have to own it, it’s ignoring the sovereignty. Greenland is a semi-autonomous region of Denmark. And the Danes take their security responsibilities seriously.”

Brennan also expressed concerns about the potential political fallout from the proposal, suggesting that it could strain relations with Denmark and other NATO partners.

“Not saying we’re going to steal Denmark, we’re going to take it over. That basically is the same justification that Vladimir Putin used to go into Ukraine. We need it for our own security and therefore we’re going to ignore that sovereign border. Might makes right and it doesn’t,” Brennan said.

The former CIA director’s comments reflect his long-standing position on U.S. foreign policy and international relations, particularly with regard to NATO allies.

Brennan emphasized that the United States should respect the sovereignty of nations like Denmark and work collaboratively with them to address security concerns, rather than pursuing aggressive territorial claims.

While Trump’s proposal to acquire Greenland was met with resistance, it underscored his administration’s focus on strengthening national security in the face of rising global tensions, particularly in the Arctic region.

As geopolitical competition with Russia and China intensifies, the issue of Greenland’s future remains a point of discussion among U.S. officials, though any future acquisition remains highly unlikely.
