House dems can’t agree on how to make fools of selves at Trump speech, top Senators start early

There will be fireworks during President Trump’s address to Congress if disgruntled Democrats get their way.

A handful of House Democrats are looking to get creative in attempts to interrupt Trump’s speech scheduled to take place Tuesday night.

“The part that we all agree on is that this is not business as usual and we would like to find a way — productively — to express our outrage,” one House Democrat told Axios.

But Democrats are reportedly split on the best way to throw Trump off his game while retaining favorable optics.

Some members are mulling walking out of the chamber when Trump says certain trigger statements. Criticism of transgender kids being a “line in the sand” that was brought up to Axios.

To probably no one’s surprise, Democrats are also considering wearing certain colors as a means of protest. The Democrat Women’s Caucus is considering “pink” to show “unified” “defiance” against Trump, Axios reported.

Female members of the Black Caucus are considering wearing black, while Ukraine Caucus co-chair Marcy Kuptur plans to distribute blue and yellow scarves and ties to Congress members.

“Whether we are wearing pink, or black, or yellow and blue, we are all conveying our displeasure with this administration,” Rep. Stacey Plaskett (D-V.I.) told Axios.

That’s a lot of colors and kind of defeats the point, no?

As it turns out, appropriate protest colors aren’t the only thing Democrats can’t agree on. The use of props to disrupt Trump has sparked “considerable internal debate” among House Dems.

“Hand clappers, red cards, anti-Trump and anti-Doge signs” along with “empty egg cartons” are all on the table, according to Axios sources.

That doesn’t mean they all agree.

“There are definitely a lot of constituents that really want Democrats to disrupt and there are … constituents who feel like that just plays into his hands,” one House Democrat told Axios.

But it gets worse, or better depending on how you look at it.

Over on X, a scripted video of Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren and Hakeem Jeffries is going viral. The talking points were launched ahead of Trump’s speech as a means to counter the president, but the extremely inauthentic way in which this stunt was executed is likely to have the opposite effect.

President Trump is such a horrible leader that top Dems have to use the same talking points and repeat them like parrots. Got it.

Plenty of X users “got it” too:

Indeed. Elon Musk agreed:
