Hockey Player Placed In Hospital After Fight Leads To Scary Injury

A fight that erupted Tuesday during a Western Hockey League contest had fans completely stunned after one of the players involved took a fall to the ice that left a pool of blood and saw him suffer a seizure.

Playing at the major junior level (aged 16-20), the game was between the Seattle Thunderbirds and Tri-City Americans. During the game at Kennewick, Washington‘s Toyota Center, Tri-City’s Terrell Goldsmith and Seattle‘s Ashton Cumby ended up getting into a fight.

To start out the scrap, each player tossed massive punches at one another, and then Cumby started to get the leverage. At one point, Cumby got Goldsmith with a vicious knock, which saw the latter tumble to the ice. Immediately, officials broke up the brawl. The Tri-City Americans appreciate the words of concern and support for Goldsmith. We will continue to update his status.”

“Goldsmith, a 19-year-old from British Columbia, was a fourth-round draft pick of the Utah Hockey Club in 2023 (back when they were known as the Arizona Coyotes).”
