Ivy League schools have been raking in cash from all sides, while many of their students believing they’re getting a superior degree go into debt.
Despite receiving billions in endowments, eight of America’s Ivy League schools have received approximately $6.4 billion more in federal funding, Fox News reported.
The top recipients were Columbia University, the University of Pennsylvania and Yale which raked in $1.3 billion, $1.8 billion and $898.7 million of taxpayer cash in 2024 respectively.
Other recipients for 2024 are listed below:
- Cornell University: $825.5 million
- Harvard University: $686.5 million
- Princeton University: $455 million
- Brown University: $254 million, according to USA Spending
- Dartmouth: $141.9 million
Federal funding for schools has been criticized by the Trump administration that’s threatened to halt payments if they don’t eliminate DEI agendas.
The administration has already paused $175 million of federal funds to the University of Pennsylvania for allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports. Columbia has also been warned a windfall of $400 could be cut off for antisemitism riots on campus, Fox noted.
Each year, the Department of Education provides around $100 billion in student loans and more than $30 billion in Pell Grants. Despite Trump’s directive to eliminate the Department of Education, he has expressed his intention to keep Pell Grants intact and transfer student loan management to the Small Business Administration.
As mentioned, many prestigious schools have large endowments that seemingly could cover any loss of taxpayer/federal funds.
According to Fox:
As of 2024, Columbia University has an endowment worth $14.8 billion, the University of Pennsylvania’s endowment is $22.3 billion, Yale’s endowment is $41.4 billion, and Harvard has amassed an endowment of over $53.2 billion.
That’s nearly $100 billion!! The report stirred up concern on X:
And they’re mostly foreign students
At Columba the student body numbers a bit over 35,000
Of that number over 20,000 are foreign students
Why are US taxpayers funding Columbia and why aren’t they being taxed on their endowments?
Now do the numbers on the rest of the Ivys

They don’t NEED our tax dollars. It’s a rip-off!

THIS IS INSANE!
Fed dollars should be shut off to “higher education”. Besides not being able to afford it, it is used to control what is taught and researched and “mandates” like vaccines and masking. Cut the money off, and that is no longer a thing. Free Thinking!

Most of them have endowments that are in the billions of dollars. Why are we continuously funding anti-American institutions?
