Habba Teams with U.S. Marshals in Newark Gang Crackdown [WATCH]

On Wednesday, the U.S. Marshals, in coordination with multiple law enforcement agencies, carried out a major raid in Newark, New Jersey, resulting in the arrest of several dangerous individuals.

The operation was led by the U.S. Marshals, with the newly appointed U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, Alina Habba, present on the ground. Habba, who previously served as President Donald Trump’s attorney in various legal cases, joined the operation personally to oversee the arrests, including gang members, sex offenders, and violent criminals.

Among the individuals arrested was 18-year-old Zakiyy Houser, a known Bloods gang member with a long history of criminal activity. Houser, who had been wanted for aggravated assault following a shooting incident in Newark last month, was apprehended during the raid.

According to records, Houser’s criminal history includes numerous juvenile offenses across Essex County, New Jersey, such as conspiracy, possession of burglary tools, criminal trespass, burglary, and theft by unlawful taking.

Another suspect arrested during the operation was 22-year-old Darius Torres, a registered sex offender. Torres had been wanted by the Lehigh County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear in court after being arrested for possessing child pornography and obscene materials.

The arrest of Torres, described as a sex predator and potential distributor of child pornography, highlights the focus of the raid on removing dangerous individuals from the streets.

The third notable arrest involved 26-year-old David Bogar, who had been sought by the Union County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. Bogar had rammed a police car and fled the scene.

Authorities found him hiding under a bed in his Newark apartment during the raid. His arrest is a significant take-down, as it involved a suspect with a history of violent confrontations with law enforcement.

Some critics may dismiss the presence of U.S. Attorney Alina Habba at the raid as nothing more than a photo opportunity, but her participation in the operation sends a clear message of leadership and determination.

Habba’s involvement shows that she is not just overseeing the efforts from behind a desk but is actively engaged in the pursuit of justice. By joining the Marshals on the frontlines, she demonstrates that, as a leader, she is committed to fighting crime in New Jersey and across the nation.

Her presence on the ground also serves as a powerful statement to criminal elements in Newark, many of whom are affiliated with gangs like the Bloods, that the new U.S. Attorney is committed to rooting out criminal activity. It’s a clear signal that her office will take swift and decisive action against lawlessness in the state.

The individuals arrested during the raid are now in federal custody, where they will face trial for their crimes. As American citizens, they will not be repatriated, but they will be held accountable for their actions and face the legal consequences of their violent and criminal behavior.

The hope is that, if the justice system operates as it should, these criminals will be incarcerated for a long time.
