Secret UK government testing site Porton Down – of Skripal poisoning fame – has long been the subject of bizarre conspiracy theories. The facility, known as the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, is basically the UK’s Area 51…

Today the Government has whacked out an updated briefing note answering the “myths and misconceptions” about the location – an eyebrow-raising use of official time. It helpfully confirms:

“Alien Bodies: No aliens, either alive or dead have ever been taken to Porton Down or any other Dstl site.”

Party-loving civil servants will be disappointed to note: “Cannabis Cultivation: Dstl and its predecessors do not and have never grown cannabis at Porton Down.” At least the professors at Porton Down don’t work from home…
