Glen DeCicco of Jupiter, Florida arrested for threatening to kill Trump in online posts

A Jupiter, Florida resident who posted on Facebook a threat to kill President Trump was arrested by local police on Friday.

The Jupiter Police Department arrested Glen DeCicco on charges of making written threats to kill.

The police were alerted to a concerning Facebook post and opened an investigation in conjunction with the Secret Service. Detectives reviewed Mr. DeCicco’s social media activity and confirmed that he had threatened the president. 

Secret Service agents joined local detectives in interviewing Mr. DeCicco, and he was taken into custody without incident. 

The Washington Times found a Facebook page belonging to a Glen DeCicco who lists his residence as Jupiter, Florida. 

The page contains several anti-Trump posts, including two posted Friday morning that could be read as threats to the president.

The first, posted at 9:33 a.m., said “ass-ass-inate!” 

That was followed by a 9:40 a.m. post that contained a more direct threat. 

“Winning strategy: buy QQQ, sell SQQQ today; shoot Trump tomorrow,” the second post read

Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi thanked Jupiter police for their swift response in a post on X. 

“Threats against @POTUS or any Secret Service protectee are taken very seriously,” he said. “Our success often starts with tips from the public so please continue to report suspicious activity to police.”

The day after the arrest, the president visited Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter for the Senior Club Championships. Mr. Trump won his second round matchup and advances to the championship round on Sunday, the White House said.
