Fresh off flipping PA, Scott Presler says neighboring blue state now firmly ‘in play’

The November election saw several swing states go for President Donald Trump, and the effect may be spilling over into blue-state neighbors.

According to conservative activist Scott Presler, one traditionally Democratic state in the Northeast is now “in play” for Republicans who may have a chance to make significant gains.

“Hear me loudly and clearly: New Jersey is in play,” Presler, who helped Trump turn Pennsylvania red in 2024, told “The Ingraham Angle” this week.

The founder of Early Vote Action believes the strategy of “Electing Republicans by registering Republicans” is working.

“At EarlyVoteAction.com, we are employing a 21-county strategy,” Presler told Fox News host Laura Ingraham. “We’re not only going to Essex and Camden, but we’re going to Sussex and Warren, and even red areas to drive up the turnout and make sure that every voice is heard.”

“We’re going to have more funding than ever, we’re going to have more staffers than ever. The RNC is on board,” he continued. “To my beautiful people at home, New Jersey is in play.”

New Jersey’s Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy is term-limited and a crowded field of candidates has already emerged to replace him. Former Gov. Chris Christie, who served from 2010 to 2018, was the last Republican to hold the office in the Garden State.

“I am here to reach as many people as I can to get them registered, and to empower them to vote on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025,” Presler said. “I am so excited to be in the Garden State.”

Former Vice President Kamala Harris won New Jersey in 2024 with 52% of the vote compared to Trump’s 46%. But in a state where Democrats outnumbered Republicans and where they controlled every branch of government, the narrow gap between Trump and Harris was significant.

Trump lost New Jersey by 14 points in the 2016 race against Hillary Clinton and in 2020, he lost by 16 points to Joe Biden. But he closed the gap in 2024, to the surprise of many watching the solid Democratic state.
