Fishermen Get Score Of A Lifetime After Catching Gargantuan Great White Shark

Holy hell, what a legendary catch!

Two fishermen doing their thing in Outer Banks, North Carolina earlier in March had one hell of an experience when they caught a gargantuan great white shark that weighed over a whopping 1,000 pounds. Fishing off the Hatteras Island beach, Jason Rosenfeld and Luke Beard caught the apex predator Mar. 15, and the thing was an incredible 12-13 feet long!

“I set hook on the fish, and it just felt different,” said Beard to WTKR. “I’m still on cloud nine. I mean, I probably will be for the rest of my life.”

Jason and Luke have been fishing together for decades at this point, but even they needed extra help — five other guys to be exact — to pull in the behemoth. It took the seven around 35 minutes to reel that sucker in.

“I’ve been dreaming of this day for most of my life!” wrote Beard in a Facebook post. “This is the first big land-based Great White in Hatteras island history! Thank you to all of my friends involved with this catch! White sharks are mysterious and beautiful animals.”

I don’t know if my family and I are going on vacation or not this year, just because there’s a lot of stuff that we need to pay for, but if we do … this is the year that I need to conquer my fear of getting seasick.

I’m trying to catch my own great white shark! I want a marlin! I want that big prize!
