Fired HHS worker corners Senator in elevator and his response was savage

Indiana Senator Jim Banks had very little sympathy for a fired HHS worker who confronted him over staff cuts.

While walking to catch an elevator, Banks was approached by a man holding a camera claiming to have been fired “illegally” from HHS. The man demanded to know if Banks was ” gonna do anything to stop what’s happening?”

He likely wasn’t expecting the kind of treatment that came next.

Watch:

“Hi, I was a worker at HHS, I was fired illegally on February 14th. There are many people who are not receiving social service programs, especially people with disabilities. Are you going to do anything to stop what’s happening?” the man behind the camera asked.

“You probably deserved it,” Banks clapped back.

“I deserved it? I deserved it, wow. Yeah that’s great to hear. Why did I deserve it?”

“Because you seem like a clown,” Banks says as the elevator shuts while a person says he shouldn’t have “said that on” camera.

It’s unclear what they thought was going to happen to Banks once their video was published, but it appears that the lawmaker isn’t the least bit intimidated. He even posted a frame from the video to X, making it his new profile picture.

X users weren’t exactly tripping over themselves to sympathize with the cameraman:
