Fetterman scolds AOC for whining over Dems’ failure to shut down government

Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.) once again broke with the majority of Democrats over the failed attempt to shut down the federal government and he scolded one of his party’s leading figures who is calling for more resistance to President Donald J. Trump.

Fetterman, who has infuriated progressives over his staunch defense of Israel, reacted to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) who whined about not inflicting punishment on the American people for political purposes and urged leftists to “fight harder” going forward.

“Fight ‘harder’ – a stunt that would have harmed millions and plunged us into chaos,” he said of AOC’s willingness to sacrifice the lives of millions of Americans, including her own constituents.

“We kept our government open. Deal with it,” the Pennsylvania Democrat added.

The “Squad” leader has recently been shoved out of the limelight by Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) who has become the party’s most prominent media presence since the disastrous 2024 election, emerging as its new face, much to the delight of Republicans.

But she is working to reassert herself by barnstorming the western states with Bernie Sanders on the “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, a ridiculous farce that seeks to gaslight the gullible into believing the Democrats – a party wholly owned by Big Pharma and Corporate America – represents the ordinary Americans.

It doesn’t.

Fetterman’s rebuke of the glorified social media influencer referred to an Axios article highlighting her remarks at a Nevada rally with Sanders, a multimillionaire who owns several houses and revealed himself as one of the biggest frauds in Congress during his confirmation grilling of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. when the new HHS boss flipped the script to expose him as being on the take from the pharmaceutical industry.

During her rant, Ocasio-Cortez urged the crowd to “fight harder” and to “look at every level of office around and support brawlers who fight, because those are the ones who can actually win against Republicans.”

Her remarks are an exclamation point on a party in crisis. One that has no policy except resistance to Trump, and has now resorted to egging on extremists to commit terrorist attacks on Tesla dealerships and electric vehicle owners to take revenge on Elon Musk for exposing Democrat corruption through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Fetterman was one of the Democrat senators who voted to break the filibuster over funding the government, wisely understanding that Trump and the American people would blame the party for a shutdown. He thwarted Ocasio-Cortez and the majority who would rather burn everything down with millions of people being collateral damage in their ongoing jihad against Trump, who decisively won the election, including all seven swing states.

He has also been one of the few adults in the room, scolding performative House members who protested Trump’s recent speech to a joint session of Congress by holding silly “BINGO” cards and refusing to stand to applaud a young cancer survivor.

“I refuse to punish working families and plunge millions of Americans into chaos or risk a recession,” Fetterman said in a statement after he joined nine other Senate Dems to vote for cloture on the Trump-backed continuing resolution that kept the government open. “I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever vote to shut our government down.”
