DOGE slashes $51mil from U.S. African Development grants including $239,738 for marketing pineapple juice

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has slashed $51 million from the U.S. African Development Foundation and revealed the shocking initiatives receiving the money.

The mission to save American taxpayer dollars has uncovered some of the downright absurd ways the federal government has spent funds while voters lose sleep at night over making ends meet. DOGE announced the foundation cuts on X, and laid out some of the ways the grant money was being allocated.

According to the post, $229,296 was disbursed for marketing 100% organic shea butter in Burkina Faso, $84,059 was allotted for a business incubator for spa & wellness entrepreneurs in Nigeria, $239,738 went to marketing pineapple juice in Benin and $246,217 was given for mango drying facilities in the Ivory Coast. Meanwhile, $99,566 was spent to increase yogurt production in Uganda, $48,406 was dedicated to a WhatsApp marketing chatbot in Kenya and another $50,000 was spent to train farmers to grow dragonfruit in Senegal.
