Advancing from proposal to practice in a matter of days, the Democratic Party provided an update on their “shadow government” involving their highly favored unelected “experts.”
The same week that the Democratic leaders in Congress joined in a lawsuit attempting to thwart President Donald Trump from preventing illegal aliens from voting, the Democratic National Committee had an announcement on another way they intended to “fight back.” Without mincing words, DNC Chair Ken Martin revealed Friday that the left was launching their very own “People’s Cabinet.”
“I want to tell you about the People’s Cabinet that the DNC is launching today. I have been traveling across the country nonstop since I started this job and what I hear over and over is this: Americans want us to fight back against Trump’s lies and offer a better alternative,” began Martin’s brief announcement that had many reflecting on Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s (D) call for a “shadow government.”
“Trump has stacked his cabinet with out-of-touch billionaires who are causing chaos and hurting working people. That’s why we are launching the People’s Cabinet,” Martin continued. “It will be made up of experts, leaders and everyday Americans who will share reliable and accurate information that you can use to fight back. Stay tuned for more.”

During a town hall event in Texas the week prior, after Trump had issued an executive order on election integrity, Walz, the failed vice presidential running mate to now former Vice President Kamala Harris, had told the crowd, “I think we need a shadow government, so when all these things come up every single day, we’ve got an alternate press conference telling the truth about what things are happening, tell them what’s going on.”
Included in the effort were former Labor Secretary Robert Reich of the Clinton administration and former acting Labor Secretary Julie Su of the Biden administration who continued to spin job figures from the end of Trump’s first administration that had been impacted by COVID.
“When he left office, manufacturing jobs were down 200,000 just within his first term,” stated Su who continued without mention of the hundreds of billions of dollars worth of foreign investment deals secured by the president for domestic manufacturing, “bringing back industry requires not just one blunt instrument, not just throwing out words like tariffs and doing them in a completely unstrategic fashion.”
Meanwhile, former Biden White House deputy cabinet secretary Daniel Koh had launched his own “The People’s Cabinet” podcast this week that claimed its aim was to “get the truth behind the headlines and chart a positive vision of a government that works.”
Reactions to the left’s subversion of the actual democratic process couldn’t help but point out, amid the party’s dwindling approval ratings, that trumpeting propaganda from unelected bureaucrats and agenda-driven experts, reminiscent of the frequent COVID-era media circuits of Dr. Anthony “The Science™” Fauci, smacked more of sedition and treason than preserving democracy.
