Dirty Dem law firm sues Trump over stripping security clearances, activist judge order imminent

The disgraced firm Perkins Coie has filed a lawsuit challenging President Donald Trump’s decision to strip it of its security clearances.

As previously reported, Trump signed an order last Thursday suspending the security clearances of Perkins Coie’s employees and also essentially barring them from entering federal buildings.

“The Order imposes these punishments as retaliation for the firm’s association with, and representation of, clients that the President perceives as his political opponents,” the firm’s lawsuit reads.

“The retaliatory aim of the Order is intentionally obvious to the general public and the press because the very goal is to chill future lawyers from representing particular clients,” it continues.

Perkins Coie represented then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign in 2016. But that’s not the reason Trump has rescinded the firm’s security clearances.

The real reason is because the firm accepted $1 million from the Democrat National Committee (DNC) and Clinton’s campaign in 2016 to conduct opposition research on then-GOP presidential nominee Trump.

Perkins Coie then funneled that money to Fusion GPS, which in turn used it to hire disgraced former British spy Christopher Steele to write the infamous Steele dossier, which was full of lies about Trump.

Perkins Coie was reportedly also responsible for the Alfa Bank smear.

Attorney Michael Sussman was a Perkins Coie lawyer who, while also working for Clinton’s 2016 campaign, colluded with a “tech executive” at an “Internet company” to intercept and access Trump’s Internet traffic data.

After obtaining dirt on Trump, Sussmann then forwarded the illegally obtained data to the FBI and claimed it showed “evidence of a covert communications channel between computer servers associated with the Trump Organization and with Alfa Bank,” as reported by the New York Times.

Alfa Bank is a Kremlin-linked Russian financial institution.

Perkins Coie has continued its anti-Trump crusade to this day.

“In recent weeks, the firm has joined many other lawyers who are opposing the administration’s actions publicly in court,” according to CNN. “Half a dozen Perkins Coie attorneys are working on a case challenging Trump’s ban on trans service members.”

Despite all this, Perkins Coie maintains that it’s the victim.

“The Order is an affront to the Constitution and our adversarial system of justice,” its suit reads. “Its plain purpose is to bully those who advocate points of view that the President perceives as adverse to the views of his Administration. … Perkins Coie brings this case reluctantly.”

“The firm is comprised of lawyers who advocate for clients; its attorneys and employees are not activists or partisans. But Perkins Coie’s ability to represent the interests of its clients — and its ability to operate as a legal-services business at all — are under direct and imminent threat. Perkins Coie cannot allow its clients to be bullied,” it continues.

Perkins Coie is reportedly being represented by Williams & Connolly, a high-level firm with extensive experience fighting the feds. It’s “considered among the most aggressive and skilled firms in fighting the federal government,” according to the New York Times.

“One of its top partners, David E. Kendall, is the longtime lawyer for Bill and Hillary Clinton,” the Times notes. “Mr. Kendall handled the congressional and Justice Department investigations into her use of a personal email account when she was secretary of state.”

“Another of the firm’s most prominent partners, Emmet Flood, was one of Mr. Trump’s top White House lawyers during his first term. Mr. Flood went on to represent Vice President Mike Pence in connection with the Justice Department investigation into Mr. Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election; that case eventually resulted in Mr. Trump’s being indicted,” the paper’s reporting continues.
