Dem Rep Jasmine Crockett Openly Mocks Disability of Red State Governor [WATCH]

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is facing backlash after publicly mocking Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s disability during remarks at a political event in Los Angeles.

The incident has sparked strong criticism, with many accusing Crockett of crossing a serious line of decency.

Crockett made the comments during a speech at the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Los Angeles Dinner on Monday.

While addressing the crowd, the congresswoman referred to Governor Abbott as “Governor Hot Wheels,” a comment widely interpreted as a slur aimed at his use of a wheelchair.

The remark came after a string of controversial statements Crockett has made in recent weeks.

In a previous interview, she said that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) needed to be “knocked over the head.”

She has also directed threats at Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, prompting Attorney General of the United States Pam Bondi to publicly caution her to “tread very carefully.”

The HRC, which hosted Crockett’s speech, describes itself as an organization that advocates for LGBTQ+ rights and promotes inclusion and tolerance.

Its official mission includes advancing the idea that an “LGBTQ+ family has the freedom to live their truth without fear.”

Crockett’s insult toward Abbott—delivered at an event promoting equality—has drawn criticism for appearing to contradict the values of the organization.

Governor Abbott, who has served as Texas’s chief executive since 2015, was paralyzed from the waist down following a tragic accident in 1984.

According to his official biography, Abbott had just graduated from law school and was out jogging in Houston when a large oak tree suddenly fell on him.

The impact crushed his spine, broke several ribs, and caused significant internal injuries.

Abbott underwent emergency surgery, during which doctors inserted two steel rods to stabilize his spine—a procedure that left him permanently wheelchair-bound.

Despite the injury, Abbott went on to build a long career in public service, including as a judge, attorney general of Texas, and governor.

His story, often cited as an example of perseverance through adversity, has resonated with many Texans. “Our lives aren’t defined by our challenges,” Abbott states on his official website.

“Instead, we define our lives by how we respond to those challenges.”

Crockett’s comment about Abbott drew widespread condemnation across political lines, with many noting the hypocrisy of mocking someone’s disability at an event intended to promote dignity and respect.

Crockett, a first-term Democrat from Texas’s 30th Congressional District, has quickly gained national attention for her inflammatory rhetoric.

Despite her public image of populist flair, Crockett has an academic background that includes a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Houston Law Center.

Her recent behavior has raised questions about whether her public persona is performative.

While political clashes are not uncommon in Congress, Crockett’s remarks have been viewed by many as a new low in the tone of public discourse.

Governor Abbott has not publicly responded to the insult.
