The Labour MP then went on to express new-found admiration for Reform and their proposal to nationalise Thames Water, applauding them for listening to the public and being “ahead of the curve“. Lewis told MPs:

“Yes they’ll privatize the NHS but they understand how popular this is and they’re ahead of the curve than ahead of us than we are in this side. Yes because they’re actually talking about it. Whether I like it or not reform have a policy for water to be owned 50% by pension companies and 50% by the public. That is a policy of public ownership, they’re populists they’re listening to a popular voice.”
