I look forward to landing my bag… Right now, it’s Stephen A.’s time!
ESPN has decided to keep Stephen A. Smith as their superstar, and they’re giving him a lot of money while they’re at it.
According to a report from The Athletic, the sports (and political) figure has come to an agreement with the four-letter network on a five-year contract extension worth at least $100 million. (RELATED: Pat McAfee Allegedly Receives Death Threats For Him And His Daughter After He Defended America)
The report states that Smith will continue to have “First Take” as his primary hosting duty with ESPN. On top of that, also a part of his deal will be less appearances on other shows, which will allow him to have more time to invest into his podcast. That’s where he’s able to get more free with topics, especially politics.
The Athletic also reports that Smith’s days as a regular on ESPN’s NBA coverage have come to an end.

Congratulations to Stephen A. Smith!
I’m always happy to see somebody land a bag, especially when it’s somebody I really like such as Stephen A. I highly doubt I make anything close to $100 million being a writer, but if I can make just a little slither of that one day, I’d be happy.
And by the way, kudos to Stephen A. for cutting such a sweet deal — money and freedom.
That’s nearly impossible to pull off.
