Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy had an encounter of the avian variety Friday when a bird landed on his head while he was appearing on air live.
Right after a comment from “Fox and Friends” anchor Ainsley Earnhardt, a bird flew up from behind Mr. Doocy and briefly landed on his head, prompting him to exclaim loudly, duck and then wave a hand in the air to bat the bird away. The bird, meanwhile, flew away, circled back toward Mr. Doocy and then flew away again.
“A bird just landed on my head! I did not like that at all … that is probably so dirty,” Mr. Doocy said on the air.
“President Trump, if you’re watching upstairs, we gotta do something about these birds. Where’s the [National] Park Service?” Mr. Doocy said.
During a White House press briefing later Friday, Fox Business White House correspondent Edward Lawrence broached the subject in a question to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
“I wonder if that’s why Peter is absent from his seat — is he doing OK? Has anyone checked on him? … I can check in with GSA to see if anybody here is looking into it. I also understand there was a mouse in the briefing room earlier today,” Ms. Leavitt said in response to Mr. Lawrence’s question, referring to the General Services Administration, the federal government’s property arm.
