Celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys sparked backlash and got themselves banned from X after a St. Patrick’s Day meltdown.
It started when the band was playing a show at MGM Music Hall at Boston’s Fenway Park, and lead singer Ken Casey unleashed a rant about President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk. He bizarrely claimed that MAGA supporters who wear the iconic red hat are “dyeing their brains” and called Musk’s black version the “Elon Musk true Nazi edition.”
At that point, he began berating a fan in the audience who was reportedly wearing one of the hats in question:

“My man here is getting ready for summer with a nice fucking light white one, alright?” Casey can be heard saying to the concertgoer. “Listen, bro, I admire your dedication, but I will ask everyone, if you’re in a room full of people and you want to know who is in a cult, how do you know who is in a cult? They’ve been holding up a fucking hat the whole night to represent a president. This is America! There’s no kings here!”
He then sarcastically asked if the band could play a song “about our grandparents and people who fought Nazis in the war.”
“So if you could just shut the fuck up for five minutes,” he said to the unidentified man.
On Monday, it was discovered that the band’s X account had been banned, though it is unclear what the reason for the ban was:
Why’d you suspend the dropkick Murphy’s account? What happened to free speech? Fricken ❄️. pic.twitter.com/NGAaZjzAHc
